Background
Following the February 2021 coup in Myanmar, India has called for an eventual return to democratic rule, while continuing to engage with all parties, including the Tatmadaw. India's interests with Myanmar are broad, and cover counter-terrorism, connectivity, trade, multilateral diplomatic engagement, and maritime security.
Event Details
To discuss how India balances values and interests in its relationship with Myanmar, ORF America and ORF are co-hosting a virtual discussion on Thursday, January 20 from 7:15 - 8:30 pm IST/8:45-10:00 am EST. Four regional experts will serve as discussants for the event.
The event is open to the public. Registration is required for the roundtable, which will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
