Global South expert Working Group
Why the Group was Created
The Global South Expert Working Group brings together leading experts and practitioners from Latin America and the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, South and Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Islands to explore how developing countries can navigate a rapidly changing development landscape.
As traditional sources of development finance decline and geopolitical competition reshapes international cooperation, the Working Group aims to identify practical strategies to strengthen economic resilience and advance national development priorities. Through a series of expert discussions, participants will examine how countries can leverage strategic assets to attract investment, strengthen domestic resource mobilization, manage debt pressures, and expand opportunities for South–South cooperation.
The Working Group will produce actionable recommendations for policymakers, development practitioners, and international partners on how developing countries can secure the financing, technology, and partnerships needed to support sustainable and inclusive growth in an increasingly fragmented global environment.
