Currently the government of Pakistan does not support the Taliban because the Taliban are out of Pakistan's control.”

Such actions by Pakistan could stimulate anti-Pakistani armed groups in Afghanistan and cause new conflicts in the region. The West should support nationalist factions within the Taliban to thwart Pakistani attempts and find a peaceful solution to the conflict.
